About Pint of Ale
We started Pint of Ale a year ago and it’s grown a lot since then. We’re just two blokes from Leeds jotting down stuff about real ale, but we really like the way the site is going. We try to visit many pubs and sample the ale they provide. When we’ve done this, we write about it on this site. We’re not hardened professional reviewers or writers, but we do our best.
2007
What will this year have in store for Pint Of Ale? We are aiming to review one pub a week and upload the review to the site along with pictures. Mike aims to keep increasing his ever-expanding pub counter list and we want to make it easier to find actual pub reviews amongst the other blog entries. We’d be really chuffed if we could write entries in such a way that would encourage people to leave comments on the posts too.
Us: Matt and Mike
We are Matt and Mike and we live in Pudsey, a West Yorkshire town near Leeds. We both love real ale and we both love spending time in pubs that serve really decent ale. We are lucky to live in an area so rich in pubs selling decent ale and in a time when interest in real ale is on the increase. Mike’s a member of CAMRA and lives just a few steps from where the Leeds Beer Festival is held ever year - perfect!
Who is behind this blog
We are both IT professionals in our work time and we both have an interest in blogging and the technology of the web itself. Therefore, this blog is a hobby, nothing more. We don’t make any money out of it (apart from $1 or so a month from our Google ads!) and we don’t really put any in either. Hosting costs us about £25 a year. This means that we don’t accept money for anything written here: everything is our own personal views. (Comments on the entries are the views of the respective comment authors).
The Banner
The banner was made from a picture that Mike took on his mobile phone. It is two partly-drunk pints of Deuchars one Friday night in the Town Street Tavern in Horsforth.
