A fairly large pub, which was crowded the night we visited. It was full of students, and this combined with the apparent lack of ventilation, led to us leaving with clothes smelling like a fag butt. The staff did come round with several large platters of sandwiches and whatnot. Its saving grace.

A Review by Chris Devereux:
In contrast to the above review, I visited The West End on a quiet Monday night. We sat in the beer garden for a while, but it really isn't anything to get excited about. The benches out the front provide for a much better and more interesting view on a hot sunny evening. It was so quiet in there when we visited, that we even got a game on the pool table, although a deposit of one pound is required for the use of a well used piece of chalk and one overly short cue. It seemed to be frequented by the odd student group and the a few dodgy old men. It was generally a pleasant place to be, although on that particular night they had run out of both Stella and Carlsberg. Not good!
