Harlequin, Cowling
"Situated on the A6068 between Crosshills and Colne in the village of Cowling. Serving good traditional food in the bar or restaurant, all freshly prepared on the premises by our small but dedicated team."
An up-market family restaurant in a small village in North Yorkshire. It is airy and bright without losing character within, the staff are friendly and the tables and décor are just right. I was dressed a little on the scruffy side when we visited and I was very self-conscious, so make an effort. We did not try the food, but it smelled and looked delicious. Since it is a restaurant, the drinks range is a little narrow, but the prices were reasonable. In all, an ideal place for a meal that's a "bit special," (and business customers come from far and wide, I am told…) but there are better places if all you are bothered about is a drink and a chat.
