The Market Tavern, Durham

This is a large, deep, rustic looking pub that was very relaxing the day we visited. The place seems to ooze atmosphere. There are books and bottles lining the walls, and the floor is untreated, bare uneven floorboards. Although I am told it gets very busy at night, this pub was empty and relaxing on the lunch time we visited.
