WHY
My new year resolution for 1998 was to have a drink in 100 pubs before the year was out. That target was passed in no time, and the total is still rising. Come in and share in the knowlegde that I worked so hard to bring you!

Visit the other parts of this site to see more information on any of the pubs listed here.

There is The List, but here is The Guide. It's a rough tour off all the pubs I've been in since January 1998. Some were visited a long time ago and I'm having trouble remembering them.

So, please start at the beginning or choose a letter from below!

If you notice any errors or want to disagree with what I've written, then email me on myculs_cot@postmaster.co.uk

HOW
There are 26 pages to The Guide - one for each letter of the alphabet.

All the entries in The Guide are ordered alphabetically and contain the following information:

The Name of The Pub Pub Score
Address of the pub, if known
Phone number of the pub, if known
1-word description
Something describing the pub, what goes on there, something that happened to me there, or anything else I fancy. m

PUB SCORE
I have given each pub a score out of five purple dots. The only criteria for scoring is what I thought of the pub in general. These are described below:

Please note that many pubs, I only stayed for half an hour or so. Some days I may have visited and caught the pub on an unusually loud/busy/quiet day. These scores below are my own personal feelings toward the place, and I may have been unfair. Some days I may have been in a bad mood, or there may have been a general glum felling amongst the people I was with. What I am saying is that since I am scoring these pubs on my own impressions, don't take them as concrete. If I re-visit, I may change my mind. Just thought I'd tell you that. Sorry if I offend you. Always feel free to email me.

Oh Dear! This pub has been given an official crap stamp. You MUST stay clear of these establishments at all cost.
Naff, pants, 'orrible. Stay clear of any pubs with only one dot!
If you're with loads of people and you've all had a few, I'm sure you'll think a pub with two dots is just great.
You'll enjoy these pubs, afterall, a pub's a pub, innit!?
The average, A Great pub. You'll want to stay in here for ever.
Mikes StarPub award. A completely outstanding pub. To nominate your StarPub, drop them in an email and I'll start a regional pub hall of fame.
ONE WORD
I've tried to give a brief sort of category to each pub. This is difficult to do, as many things affect my choice - for example a pub may be quiet and sleepy when I visited, but may be loud and busy at other times. If you think I'm wrong, email me.
