F - THE GUIDE - F

Favesham, The
Leeds
Night Out
This is a "night out" pub but it's also verrrrry relaxing. It's big and dark and has very comfortable sofa's for you to just collapse on. This is one of the best pubs I visited in my epic Leeds weekend and we all liked it. [TOP]
[THE GUIDE]

Feast & Ferkin, The
Leeds
Going Out
It’s a Firkin pub. It has a wooden floors, Firkin beer and those tables made out of barrels with ropes around them. Like I said, it's a Firkin pub. [TOP]
[THE GUIDE]

Felon & Firkin, The
Leeds
Going Out
A Firkin pub. See reviews above and below and you have this one. It does have a sort of upstairs balcony, but we didn't go up. We played silly games with a matchbox instead. Emily managed to get the matchbox in her pint TWICE! Can you believe it? [TOP]
[THE GUIDE]

Ferret & Trouserleg, The
Sheffield, nr The Cathederal
Quiet
A large pub, with not many people on the night I visited. It is tucked away beside the cathedral and was good enough for a quiet chat before moving on to The NMB. [TOP]
[THE GUIDE]

Fitztooth & Firkin, The
Whitham Road, Sheffield
Student
This is in the main student area of Sheffield, and was quiet when we visited out of term time. It’s a bit smaller that the Foundry but I like it more. The range of 'big' games is good. We played giant Yahtzee with dice as big as our heads. Thoroughly enjoyed it! [TOP]

Flares
West Street, Sheffield
70s
A bright, loud 70's pub. It shouts FUN and the atmosphere is great. All the staff are dressed in their best 70's gear and the TV's play Dastardly and Mutley cartoons. What more do you need from a pub!? [TOP]
[THE GUIDE]

Flares
Wakefield
70s
Here was me thinking that Flares was unique to Sheffield and I hear that they're all over the place! Ah well. This one is just like the one in Sheffield, but is longer and skinnier. Everything else is the same. So if you like Top Cat cartoons and loud loud seventies music, then you'll love it. A big hello to Jenny who can be found behind one of the two bars most weekends. She's the one with the big, red hair and "Foxy Chick" badge. [TOP]
[THE GUIDE]

Fleece, The
Skipton
Loud
Situated opposite one of the worst nightclubs I've ever had the misfortune of going in, this could possibly be one of the worst pubs. Nah, I suppose it's not that bad, but it isn't in a very good condition and they really should put something in the empty Fighting Corner that was there when I was. [TOP]
[THE GUIDE]

Forgers
Collegiate Crescent Campus, SHU
Student
This place reminds me of school discos. It is just like the school hall used to look like - fluorescent lights turned on and just cheap, plywood covered in plastic kitchen top stuff tables. The bar area itself is alright - it almost manages to look like a pub. The beer is cheap and the pool tables are in good condition. [TOP]

Foundry & Firkin, The
240 West Street, Sheffield
0114 275 7805
Loud
This is quite a large Firkin pub and is usually very loud (although I usually go in at night.) There isn't the usually large selection of games in this pub, as I have seen in other Firkin's. (I much prefer the Fitztooth and Firkin) Still, it’s a good enough place. [TOP]

Foxwood, The
Mansfield Road, Sheffield
0114 253 0399
Horrible
This place is the pits. It's big and I regret the day Jez and I drove past and I said "That looks interesting" It was. In a I think I'm going to get beaten up now type of way. Nasty. [TOP]
[THE GUIDE]

Fraternity House Bar, The
Opposite the Lyceum, Sheffield
Poser
An airy and expensive, stereotypical café bar. When I was in, it was empty and relaxing. A couple of hours later, when we walked past again, it was packed and quite loud. [TOP]
[THE GUIDE]

Frog & Parrot, The
Division Street, Sheffield
0114 272 1280
Mix
This is a cool pub. The wood work is predominately black yet it isn't a dingy place. It sells an extremely strong beer, Roger and Out (12.5%) which if you drink a pint, you get a lurvely certificate. How nice. They sell it in thirds. As Freddricks Frog says in their leaflet, Brewhouse Roll of Honour Class'o' '98 says: "A great traditional pub with a safe and friendly atmosphere. It’s a FAB place so why not make us your base!" Check out their brew house tour too! [TOP]
