A Scream, the same people as The Cavendish,
this is a lot smaller and more friendly.
Its black inside but not too dark. The
décor is great, drinks a little
pricey but it's still one of my favourite
pubs. Not one for a quiet drink though.

Local Pub, this is a bit out of
the way of the other Bishop Auckland pubs
I've mentioned in these pages. It is a
friendly place, and I felt more
comfortable here than in The Castle for
example. It's split into two rooms and is
loud only because it was full of people
having a good time. (Ouch, cliché!)
