Andy and Mike! Looks can be
deceiving…
Andy and I saw this place a long
time ago and it looks soooo fabtastic. It
is surrounded by old. Tumbledown barns
and looks like an inviting, warm country
pub. Tonight though, saw the realisation
of our dream. We re-discovered the place
and walked through it's inviting doors.
(Of course we had to park in it's dark,
dark car park and walk past a gaggle of
yobs. We were all grateful that Andy's
car was a banger!) It was actually the
start of a nightmare! The piano stopped.
A tumbleweed blew through the bar.
Everyone looked at us. (This is fictional
- Mike is on a role!) Seriously though,
we felt really uncomfortable in this pub.
The atmosphere was almost as bad as that
in the The
Shades but not quite. The bar staff
were all quite sexy though!
After a very quick pint that almost made
Abbie sick, we scarperd and were glad to
see Andy's car was still there! We then
moved onto another odd one, The Stumble
Inn…

Local during work days. On a Friday at
about 1230, it gets really busy for half
an hour when all the employees of Servelec
go in there for their thirty minutes of
dinner time. At any other time, from what
I can gather, this is a quiet, dining
pub. I could stay here for ever
sometimes, yet other times it gets right
on my nerves. Lynne, one of the bar
managers is "Mad in the heed"
and is lovely. (She often asks to wipe
your bottom. Of your glass, that is!)

| Eugh. I
had managed to avoid this place for three
years until we were dragged in for
someone's leaving do. It is under street
level and big bouncers stand outside,
intimidating you even at quiet times.
Inside it's dingy and all the people are
your ageing drunken types - I've never
felt more out of place than this night.
It was naaaaaaarsty. Do NOT GO THERE.
