Suburban Style Bar, Horsforth A Pint Of Ale Pub Review

A small town bar - usually a recipe for disaster, but Suburban Style is not as bad as we feared!

Suburban Style is a chain of bars in West Yorkshire in the towns around Leeds. Don’t be put off by the terrible name, these are not low-quality Stella Artois-only establishments aimed at 17 year old boy racers, they’re actually quite good!

We’ve visited Suburban Style in Horsforth several times over the last few months and can’t help but like it. It’s not your traditional pub and it tries a little too hard to be ‘cool’ perhaps, but the atmosphere is great and the beer is good.

The single floor is split over a couple of levels with walls dividing the place up into two open plan rooms. There are many tables and the odd sofa. Service at the bar is swift, even on the most busy nights and table service is also offered, although when busy this can be infrequent.

On the single tap last night was Tim Taylor’s Landlord, which for a “trendy bar”, was served in excellent condition and made for a good sup. The range of bottled and continental beers was impressive too.

Not the place for a quiet pint of a Friday night perhaps, but Suburban Style should not be snubbed by those looking for a decent pint in an unlikely location.

Now serving Black Sheep Bitter and Ale with may be another one coming at some point from a micro-brewery.
