The Crown, Yeadon A Pint Of Ale Pub Review
A decent town centre pub, The Crown sells a decent pint of ale.
The Crown in Yeadon is a Yorkshire stone, double-fronted pub just round the corner from the main street. The ground-level room is split into two main areas, with the corner bar linking the two. There were three ales on tap during our November visit. We opted for the guest Deuchars, but it was finished so we went for a decent pint of Tetley’s, served by a very friendly bar woman. The wine that accompanied my pint was described as ‘mediocre’.
The Crown smacks of traditional old boozer but on closer inspection, it’s actually quite modern. The wood all seems new and everything is clean. It must have had a recent refurbishment. There is a beamed ceiling, a wooden fireplace with stove and pot ornaments of horses all over the place. A couple of large plants break things up somewhat and a small, discreet, silent TV by the bar was showing the day’s racing action. There are nice views out of the windows across the valley towards Otley and the moors.
