Some Horsforth pubs
Matt and Mike come to Horsforth to take in a few pubs.
Matt and I had planned to visit the outstanding 1930s Three Pigeons in Halifax tonight. Train problems have seen us take a taxi up to Horsforth instead. We’ve enjoyed a couple of pints in the Town Street Tavern. Matt’s Golden Pippin was light and fine while I opted for an equally light Pale Rider from Sheffield brewery, Kelham.
We’re now sitting in a wonderful and unique new establishment called The Severed Head. It’s only been open since December and it’s a vision in rich wood, bare stone and copper. Matt’s Old Speckled Hen is a ‘nice pint’ and my Tim Taylor’s Landlord is fruity and refreshing. Expect a fuller review in due course!
